SEO Secret Tips People Often Overlook
By LTSEO Guru on Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 at 9:43 amNo amount of internet marketing campaign is ever effective if one does not have any basic knowledge of how SEO works, those who have been in the industry for some time now knows well the importance of having high search engine ranking placements. However there are a lot of information out there that it is hard to determine which is working is working and which is a joke.
There are a lot of SEO secrets that have been revealed, some are new, some are old. Some have withstood the test of time, some died out in the long run. This is because search engines continuously change their algorithms and go as far as weed out websites that they see are cheating their way to the top. And as far as the internet is concerned, it is constantly evolving, that is why some strategies that worked before may never work tomorrow or the day after.
In this post I wrote down some SEO secrets that have been working ever since and will continue to work for the years to come:
The SEO Secret In Finding The Right Keywords – This is the most basic SEO secret yet the hardest to pull off. That is why many internet marketers fail miserably with their campaign because many people use the keywords that “makes sense” to them – but only to them. Well in fact they should consider what the people are searching instead. Everything, from your domain name to content within your website should be well thought out in relation to your keyword. Once you have found you target niche try researching on what keywords are best for your niche. Try finding a keyword that is searched a lot but has minimum competition.
Quality Content – Well this is not much of a secret, but quality content is hard to come by nowadays that it almost seem people are blinded to this fact. Many people disregard quality content and just blatantly put in whatever content they deem is right for their website. You cannot expect to achieve good rankings in search engines when your content is is not keyword rich. In addition it is a fatal mistake by most internet marketers to over-stuff their content with keywords thinking it will boost their search engine rankings. Try balancing out the keywords in your content; put them there in moderation and in a way that makes sense to the visitors and to the search engines.
Domain Name and Title of the Site – Still in relation to the first SEO secret, your domain name and the title of your website should match your keywords. It does not have to be the whole keyword or key phrase itself. Though many internet marketers do not consider this as important, I beg to disagree. You can just take a look for yourself in search engines. 95%-98% of the time when you type in a keyword or phrase, the tops results included their keywords in their domain name and title. You should also try to make your title compelling to catch people’s curiosity so that people will click on your website and not on any other website.
Site Maps – This is often disregarded by many webmasters. Site maps helps search engines crawl through your website for relevant content that people search for. Make sure that your website does not have any broken links so that the crawlers can breeze through your website. This also helps a lot in boosting your search engine rankings.
These are just some SEO secrets that I have to share. You may have already heard of some of these, but that is essentially it! Some secrets are right under our noses but we never took heed. These SEO secrets have withstood the the test of time and will continue to do so in many years to come. Some call SEO secrets as black-hat SEO, but the truth is, the most overlooked secret is the failure to apply fundamental SEO that just makes sense.
