Conversion Tips: Bring Visitors to the Right Page
By LTSEO Guru on Monday, January 4th, 2010 at 2:34 pmWhen you are working with Adword Marketing or any form of PPC services to increase traffic to your website, it is natural to assume that you want all your ad-clicks to lead to conversion. When I mean all, I mean the big 100%. Well, some people will say that is impossible to achieve - which is 100% true. But then, we do not understand why people have to settle for less. The truest approach is, as long as your conversion rate has not reached 100% then you still have room to improve, and that is not a bad thing.
One of the fundamentals of increasing conversions is bringing people to the right page at the shortest time possible.
1) Give the Customers What They Want - There are some websites that we come across where they feature a product in their ad links but when we click on them we find a different product. The product may be similar or related to the ad, but ultimately it is not the product that your customers want. Thus, it goes back to the fundamental element of marketing - do not advertise if you have nothing to sell.
For example, if you have are selling wedge shoes, it is futile to make an ad about gladiator shoes to promote your inventory of wedge shoes hoping that they bite your products. Marketing for broad keywords can be effective, but if you are focusing on individual conversions on specific products, then it is best to have a product that is ready to sell before making a direct ad.
2) Have All Information Ready - When running a PPC campaign, you have to remember that people who click on are likely to be already interested with what you have to offer. Thus, it is important to have all the relevant information for your offer on one page. The product name should be in the headline, the price must be highlighted, and product description, phone number and/or link to buy should be easily seen. If you have discounts and special offers make sure to let the visitors know t00. This way, you can turn visitors into buyers instantly.
It is essential to lead visitors straight to your product page or the correct product categories rather than your search page. This idea is similar to selling on a street market. If a walk-in buyer wants a specific product, you do not lay out all your goods and let him choose the best one. Instead, once he asks for a product, you have to be ready to draw that one product and show him exactly what it is all about.
By doing this, you take away the vagueness of your content and give them the info that they need. The exactness of content delivery is the biggest factor for decreasing your bounce rate.
Tip Box for the Day
1) Make sure you link your PPC ads to the right (exact) page
2) Mirror your ad title to your product page
3) Make sure all selling points are visible
